BKB is a new combat sport that promises to deliver more action and more knockouts than traditional boxing. This new style utilizes The Pit, a small circular arena where fighters battle toe-to-toe which forces them to engage one another with nowhere to run. I was part of a small team that was tasked with developing the BKB brand, and establishing its digital presence ensuring that it came out swinging and effectively stood out from the crowd.

With cord-cutting being a growing threat to traditional TV, AT&T launched DIRECTV NOW—a live TV streaming-only service that offers more channels than any other streaming service, without the added equipment costs, hidden fees and long-term contracts. This is the entertainment you love, now on your terms. I was the lead designer on a team responsible for developing DIRECTV NOW’s digital presence.

BKB needed a look that would capture the attention of fight fans and effectively communicate what made it unique. The concept utilized a yellow target, which focused in on the The Pit where two fighters duke it out. Bold typography and gritty textures paired together giving it an underground look and feel.

DIRECTV NOW’s responsive marketing site needed to feel revolutionary with a bold attitude—constantly driving home that this was live TV you can stream, when and how you wanted. Video content throughout made available programming the hero, while also making it feel as though a user was flipping through their channel guide and viewing live TV as it aired.
